So I saw Iron Man on Friday night. I know nothing about the Iron Man character or franchise, but I went off to see the movie anyway, figuring that even if I didn't know much about it, it's always fun to see a comic geek movie with other geeks.

After the movie I had this conversation with Holly and Kelly:

Me: Who else found Robert Downey Jr. mysteriously hot in this movie?
Kelly: He was indeed hot.
Holly: There is nothing mysterious about it, he has always been hot. He was hot in Wonder Boys.
Me: The only thing hot about him in Wonder Boys is that he plays Michael Douglas' editor and picks up a transvestite at the airport and brings it to Michael Douglas' house, which is something you kind of always wish your editor would do.
Holly: Wonder Boys is Pulp Fiction for writers.

Theo also explained his One Universe Theory of Movies, which seems like it would be satisfying to anyone who has long hoped that eventually Spiderman and Batman will hook up.

The other character who I am finding mysteriously hot is Chuck on Gossip Girl which is especially weird because I only ever read the last Gossip Girl book in which Chuck seems crazy and owns a monkey. But he is strangely fabulous on the show, despite his evil ways. Actually, because of his evil ways. And his insane outfits. (Purple sweater! Yellow pants!) I thought about buying my boyfriend a sweater in Bologna that reminded me of Chuck, but when I asked him about it he plaintively accused me of trying to dress him like the Obviously Gay Brother from High School Musical.

Mmm. Chuck.

Chuck is even hotter when he speaks in his British accent. He is far and away the hottest guy on the show. Nate can keep his pretty boy bone structure and Dan can shove the nice guy act up his butt. Chuck is where it's at.

Ok. I'm going to stop stalking your journal now.

The kid and I were going to go see Iron Man today but then he decided he wasn't interested in it. We'll just see how 'interested' I am when Speed Racer comes out. :)

Chuck is the only reason I keep watching GG. And I think what makes him all the more hot is when even in all his evil ways he does something halfway decent and then pretends it never happened.

(OMG I SO WANT TO KNWO WHAT SERENA DID WITH GEORGINA THAT SHE CAN'T EVEN TELL CHUCK!!!!!!)

That would be way freaking intense, even for those crazy NYC elitists.

I was thinking that they had like gotten into some sort of trouble with drugs. Or that Georgina was involved with like the whole Serena/Nate thing, but that there was more to the story than meets the eye.

*spoiler*

AHHHHHHHH!

When Serena admitted her homicidalness I gasped so loud it hurt to breathe afterward. I for sure thought they either witnessed some sort of sleazy crime or had like... a threesome and filmed it. And then, during the episode, I actually thought I was right. AND THEN BAM!

I love this show waaaay too much. Total girl-crush on Blair.

Enjoyed movie. Did not find him hot, though. Enjoyable but not hot.

At first I was mad that they changed Chuck so much from the books, but now I don't even care because he just reeks of hot and awesome. Something about the diabolical, I suppose.

RDJ was fairly hot in Chances Are; it was one of the only redeeming things about that movie.

I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to remember the movie in which RDJ and some Baldwin brother are competing for the same girl and they all end up having a threesome. Maybe it was called ... threesome? Google isn't helping me.

There was a movie called Threesome, but RJD wasn't in it.

That's not the movie I'm thinking of. In mine, RDJ's character was on and off drugs, and at the end the guy & girl are driving him off in a convertible, stoned and totally out of it. Both of the guys are sexing up the girl at different times, but then at some point they're all lying on a bed together and then she starts making out with both of them and ... assorted other making out stuff happens.

I want to say the girl had short blonde hair and was one of the Brat Back girls, but I can't be certain I'm not mixing her up from some other movie.

Come to think of it, maybe it was Rob Lowe or something. Damn these 90's boys and their dark hair and puppy eyes, all looking alike!

Could it be Less Than Zero, the terrible film adaption of the Bret Easton Ellis novel by the same name? I can't remember any threesome action, and I definitely don't think there's a Baldwin in the film, but I do recall some convertible scenes at the end, and RDJ's character is definitely on and off drugs throughout.

It is entirely possible that all existing RDJr movies have melded into one long, interesting scenario, in my head.

Chuck is the only one who can wear Chuck clothes and not look dorky. He is so cool that everything he wears becomes so.

I'm still in shock that Iron Man is actually good, but the minute my finals are over I'm totally there. (Well, after "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," cause I must support Kristen Bell in all endeavors.)

Gossip Girl does nothing for me. CW-- bring Veronica back! *wishful thinking*

And now ABC is considering canceling "How I Met Your Mother." If you haven't seen that, you should cancel your trip to Italy and watch it instead. ;-P

Jenny Humphrey.... Dan's little sister.. I'm not sure what episode it is--but chuck pretty much locks her on the roof and.. yeah.

She sends a text to Dan I believe... First season.

p.s. I was so confused and thought I posted the reply to Cassie on your journal. :-p

Tony Stark and Chuck Bass? Nothing better, especially if you're into fabulous (in many different ways) fictional playboys--add Bruce Wayne into the mix and I'm a REALLY happy camper. :D

I have yet to see Iron Man, but I do watch Gossip Girl and I have to agree with you. Evil is the new hot or something.
Also, City of Glass comes out on my birthday! That makes me irrationally happy. Like you're personally giving me a birthday present. I'm a little crazy.

Oh, Chuck Bass. I once wrote an article for my school paper about Gossip Girl and read the first book. Did you know Ed Westwick (Chuck in the TV series) is actually British?
I don't know whether to describe as mysteriously hot or mysteriously cute. I have a fine line between the definitions of the words.
Speaking of British boys, did you get my email about Alex Pettyfer?
