movie news — casting Clary
Just dropping an entry to announce that, as reported by Deadline, Lily Collins, who starred in The Blind Side and the upcoming Priest**, has been cast to play Clary in the movie adaptation of City of Bones. The producers and director have worked with her before and say great things, and I have to admit right now I haven't seen The Blind Side but am obviously going to go out and watch it NOW.

She is completely adorable and looks right for Clary to me:

[and with curly hair!]

And now, of course, as this article notes, presumably the speculation about who plays Jace will begin in earnest . . .

** And apparently is also famous for dating Taylor Lautner — did I know this? No, but my readers apparently know everything. :)

ETA: There are now 590 comments on the post and I think 589 mention Alex Pettyfer. We get it. Really, we do! It would be hard to miss. Just a reminder that I don't have any influence over casting!

Everyone is fighting over who will play Jace, and if it should be Alex Pettyfer or not.
In my opinion, he'd be a really good Jace, because he can act. I also just think he fits. I also think everyone wouldn't start fighting over "what movie he belongs to" because, well, we're not exactly obsessive Twilight fangirls (no offense). I think Alex Pettyfer looks just like Jace. (Keep in mind some people have suggested actors who are like, 30. Hello? He is 17.)
Anyway, the fans don't decide who plays Jace (I can just imagine the war that would happen if we did. Valentine would run away screaming, I'd bet my life on it.)the casting director does. So here's hoping they pick the best for the job.
P.S Cassie, congrats.
P.P.S (in an earlier comment, you said how Dan Radcliffe didn't wear contacts, when his eyes were supposed to be a emerald green, and his eyes were a piercing blue, well that's because he's allergic to the contacts or something.Or he was too young. Sorry,I'm kind of a Harry Potter freak. Anyway, my point is it doesn't really matter what colour his eyes are, because it's not like it ruined the movie. Dan is an amazing actor.Along with Rupert and Emma and JAMES AND OLIVER PHELPS!)
...Did anyone else also just get a mental image of people screaming in horror at the fact he had blue eyes, and crying that the movie was destroyed right after I said it wasn't?
P.P.P.S and then I'll shut up, Cassandra, thank you for writing your books. They are amazing.
